The actors of Beverly Hills 90210 have not really managed to overcome their emotions and negative feelings following the departure of Shannen Doherty. We explain the reasons to you.
We are in 1990 and Shannen Doherty manages to land the role of Brenda Walsh in the series Beverly Hills 90210. The character arouses the enthusiasm of the public and makes her interpreter glorious. However, the atmosphere is far from the same behind the scenes. The name of the actress has been associated with a bad girl reputation following the problems of understanding with the production. However, she points out that « a lot of people weren’t happy on the set ». She continued: « The energy became toxic on set. I’m not saying that it was her who made her toxic, but it was simply because of everything that was going on. »
Beverly Hills star reacts to rumors surrounding her
The departure of Shannen Doherty had repercussions on Beverly Hills 90210. In the United States on Fox, the series’ audiences went from 21,700,000 to 14,700,000. The show therefore lost 7,000,000 viewers. The actress was also forced to turn her back on all the rumors about her departure. Ten years after the end of the series, she explains: « I’ve felt misunderstood all my life, we had a problem with me being late, but maybe they didn’t know I was late because my dad was in the hospital, or maybe because I had a horrible marriage. I said nothing or was asked nothing. I’m not saying it was all a misunderstanding, but a lot of it was. » Shannen Doherty managed to explain herself with the other actors on the occasion of the return of the series.
